Sobre mí
Rafaelos Christofi nació en Nicosia, Chipre. Es compositor acústico y electroacústico, compositor de cine y diseñador de sonido. Estudió guitarra clásica en la Escuela de Música de Nicosia, composición clásica en la Universidad de Artes Codarts y Composición para Medios Audiovisuales en Katarina Gurska Centro Superior. Compuso música para cortometrajes, documentales, ópera, teatro y muchos otros escenarios interdisciplinarios. Colaboró y escribió música para varios artistas, grupos musicales y organizaciones, incluida la Ópera y Ballet Nacional Holandés y el Festival Internacional de Cine de Rotterdam.Sus raíces chipriotas son evidentes en su música y muchas de sus obras también son profundamente programáticas, ya que están escritas e inspiradas en historias y cuentos, logrando una conexión más profunda entre fantasía, historia, escenario, expectativa y sonido. About
Rafaelos Christofi was born in Nicosia, the capital of the small island of Cyprus. He is an acoustic and electroacoustic composer, film scorer and sound designer. He studied classical guitar at the Music School of Nicosia, Classical Composition at Codarts University of Arts and Composition for Media at Katarina Gurska Centro Superior. He wrote music for short films, documentaries, opera, theatre, and many other interdisciplinary settings. He collaborated and wrote music for various artists, music groups and organisations, including the Dutch National Opera and Ballet and the International Film Festival of Rotterdam.His Cypriot roots are apperent in his music and many of his works are also deeply programatic, as they are written for and inspired by stories and tales, achieving a deeper connection between fantasy, story, stage, expectation and sound. Good examples would be the pieces Myst (2017), More than the Sum of its Parts (2022), Tales of the Forest (2023) and El joven Capitán de la Sirena (2023).Rafaelos was awarded the first prize for the International Youth Music Competition in 2021, the first prize for the Cyprus National Commission UNESCO for a short documentary in 2021 and was nominated for ´´Best Original Music´´ at the IRTVE Premios 2024.
